Update-3 p.m.

I want to start out by saying thank you to all for your ongoing prayers, thoughts and support. I then want to tell you that Stephen and Alison are "OK". Unfortunately, however, Stephen went into surgery this morning and it was determined that he could not be Alison's donor. His surgery was well underway and at this point, we are just very grateful that Stephen, although in a great deal of pain, is not in any imminent danger. He has been in recovery for several hours and it appears that they are beginning to get his pain under control. Once that happens, he will be moved to ICU. As you can imagine, we are all devastated. Most especially, Alison. I know I do not need to ask but please continue to keep my children and my husband in your prayers. We can all use your prayers right now.
Love,
Karen

  6. Karen,
Maybe you can give me the specifics on Aison"s blood type and stuff and I can do some searching for her on possible donors. Anything I can do to help out just let me know.

  12. Dear Alison, Stephen, Karen, Joe & Jen,
We don't know the correct words to express our feelings about todays happenings. Stephen is a very special person to be willing to share a part of himself with Alison. I am sure he is disappointed things did not work out as planned. We wish him a speedy recovery. And pray that a donor will soon be found for Alison.
All the Cubbellotti's are in our prayers.
    Love, Reggie, Jeff & Jecy

  13. Cubbellotti family,
Your strength is absolutely inspirational. You are all superheroes and I truly believe that your love will overcome any obstacle that life may put in your way. Keep smiling through the pain and remember that God works in funny ways. Everything happens for a reason, and eventually you will find your miracle.
Stephen, I cannot imagine how you will feel when the news regarding the surgery reaches you. What I do know, however, is that you will continue to be the brave & courageous throughout the rest of this trying process.
Alison, you're my best friend. I have no idea how you even begin to play the cards you were dealt. I wish that I could be stronger for you, but you know that regardless of my own weakness, I will always be here for you, no matter what.
You are in my thoughts & prayers- LOVE YOU.

  15. Wow - what a day for all of you. Karen & Joe - continue to give those "hug a hugs" that we love to do in our family. Hugging - "sometimes without words", is just what the doctor ordered.
In a quite sort of way, I'm so glad that I was able to be there this afternoon for you all.
And, Dawn, thanks so much for being the person who was there for all and especially keeping us all informed with such calmness and comfort.
Alison since we don't know what God's plan is yet, I will continue to pray for your amazing strength through all of this.
Finally, I will especially be praying for Stephen to manage his pain and work through a speedy recovery.
Love ya all so much, your big sister Sharon

  19. I can't even begin to imagine the feelings each person in your family must have during this time. But know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and you are all so strong and courageous that I know you will be able to keep smiling! Ali, I love you to pieces and I am in awe of how well you deal with things in life. It certainly hasn't been very fair to you, but you still find ways to laugh :). Stephen, I hope and pray your pain is under control and I think you are the most selfless person I know. What you did was still an amazing thing, even if the results did not go as planned. Jenn, Mr. & Mrs. Cubbelloti, I am praying for you to have the strength to support everyone! Keep your chin up and hopefully soon everyone will start to understand why this all happened. Take care!
