A need for prayers to continue

It is now 3:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. Unfortunately, Alison began to experience chest pain last night. After an ultrasound and a CT Scan, it was determined that Alison has another pleural effusion and a pulmonary embolism in the lower left lobe of her lung. The embolism is small. The docotrs are changing her blood thinnner medication and for precautionary measures, moving her back to the Intensive Care Unit. All of Alison's vital signs are good but she is in a significant amount of pain. The teams of doctors will meet this morning to discuss further plans.

  1. And prayers will keep on coming. Hang on tight. There are many of us out here holding you all close to our hearts. I hope the donor realizes how much he is loved for his generosity.

  2. We pray for all of you everyday. Stay strong. You've been through so much. You'll get through this hump too. We are so appreciative of your dedication in updating this so frequently. The first thing I do every morning is check in on Alison.

  5. Alison - I'm really looking forward to the day when we can look back on everything and laugh together - compare scars, pictures, hospital stories - you're a rockstar, and a role model to so many - including me! I told my little liver to talk to yours, so you should be feeling better soon.

To the rest of the family - Alison is so lucky to have you. You're all a blessing.

    xoxo,
    Nicola

  8. Alison - You're a tough cookie! You make me strong. I have complete faith that these are "little" hurdles that are at the last leg of this race you've been in. I focus on the fact that your liver is working perfectly and all these other things will be fixed now that your liver is good. I check out your blog probably 4 times a day. So please know that if people aren't physically there in the hospital, we're all reading - constantly reading the blog and keeping you in our prayers. I'm so happy you got to meet your donor. Being able to see your donor must have made you feel so good. I will pray that today is a better day for all of you. Your mom, dad, brother and sister are amazing. There is NOTHING like family...and friends. You're a very loved girl Alison! :) One more thing, your mom is an incredible writer. She has me all emotional each time I read her blog. Whether it's a happy, sad, an unsure message, I'm at the edge of my seat. The sun is shining today...I hope that means you will be shining today as well Alison! Be well and keep the faith...you're almost at the finish line!! :)
